Employee Testimonials - Home Coordinator

DanilleDanille Lewis

Danille Lewis started working at Heartspring in 1996 as a paraeducator. Here she worked as a para and a home coordinator assistant for several years and was then hired to work privately by one of our student’s families when he transitioned home.  After two years in that position Danille returned to Heartspring, again as a paraeducator.  In less than a year she was promoted to the position of home coordinator, supervising the direct care staff in one of our group homes and has recently been promoted again to be the lead home coordinator, providing support and assistance to other supervisors in the homes.

Danille is going to school to be a clinical social worker.  She has completed her Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Butler County.  She is currently enrolled at Wichita State University and has two more semesters until her graduation. Working at Heartspring has given her some great related experience to go with her education.

When asked what motivated her to go back to school, she immediately replied, “Oh, my daughter, definitely!”  Danille is mom to five year-old Treazure.  This aptly named little girl is the light of Danille’s life.  Danille admits that being a single mom can be hard and she is going to school in order to provide Treazure with the things she wants and needs to get ahead in life.  More importantly, Danille is providing Treazure with an example.  Danille wants to model the importance of working hard to achieve goals and striving to be the best she can be.  As Danille says, “I want her to know that if she puts her mind to it, she can do anything!”  Danille certainly lives her life as an example to her own daughter, our students and our staff.
