Exceptional Parent Magazine recognized Heartspring teacher Verlene Warner as a Model of Excellence in the September 2006 issue

For over 27 years, Verlene Warner has exemplified what it is to be a teacher to children with special needs as the music specialist, vocational training/CBI coordinator at Heartspring, a residential and day school serving children with special needs from across the nation and around the world. Warner provides each child with a chance to express themselves through music and initiates positive work behaviors through vocational training. Warner works in tandem with other teachers, therapists, medical staff, school districts and parents. She takes time to ensure every student has the opportunity to grow and learn on a path to a greater independence.
