Organizations support Heartspring, help purchase children’s therapy equipment

Heartspring is grateful for the generous support it receives from donors to help purchase children’s therapy equipment. Recently, the MDRT Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the premier association for financial professionals, announced that it will award a grant in the amount of $10,000 to Heartspring in honor of Greg Gough, AXA Advisors, LLC, for his exceptional volunteerism and long-time affiliation with Heartspring.  This generous contribution will be used to purchase a partial weight bearing training treadmill for Heartspring Pediatric Services that will aid children with disabilities as they learn to take their first steps and walk on their own. In 2002, a gift from the Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) Sorority enabled Heartspring to purchase its first pediatric treadmill coupled with a mobile harness system which helps children develop posture and balance as they practice walking. ESA contributed additional funds in 2006 to purchase an electronic treadmill walkway system that collects data allowing therapists to analyze therapy plans and map progress. Earlier this year, the Downtown Wichita Kiwanis Foundation granted Heartspring funds to purchase two toddler chairs for outpatient therapy. These chairs help children maintain posture while facilitating the development of fine motor and play skills. These are just a few of the generous contributions donors have made to support children’s therapy equipment. Without donations from individuals, foundations and corporations, it would be difficult to provide the equipment children with disabilities need to grow and learn on a path to a more independent life.
