Golden Apple Award presented to Travis Grover

Travis Grover, adapted physical education teacher in the Heartspring school was recognized Thursday November 13 as a Golden Apple Teacher Award winner by KAKE TV and Papa John's Pizza.
The Golden Apple Award recognizes Wichita-area teachers who have gone beyond
the call of duty for our children.
Weekly winners are featured on KAKE News every Saturday night at 10:00 pm and
receive a Papa John's Pizza party for their classroom, $250 cash and the
prestigious Golden Apple award.
Eligible teachers include Pre-K through 12 in the Wichita-area who inspire
and motivate students to great heights in education.
In addition to overseeing the adapted physical education department, Grover is also responsible for all recreation and leisure activities for the students in the Heartspring School and coaches the Heartspring Hawks Special Olympics team.
Travis was honored in 2007 by Exceptional Parent Magazine as a Model of Excellence in Education.
Terry Newman from Papa John's Pizza, Jeff Herndon from KAKE-TV and Dawson
Grimsley from Davis-Moore Auto Group were on campus to surprise Travis
with this award.
