  13. What activities will my child be participating in? top
All activities are centered around technology and group dynamics specifically designed to facilitate opportunities to teach and apply appropriate social skills, effective communication, and lasting friendships among participants.  Many experienced Heartspring staff members affiliated with technology such as Web Services will be on hand to “companion” many of the camp participants as we facilitate the production of an actual news cast to be staffed and produced by Camp SSTAR campers.  Heartspring therapists will also be on site for social skills groups and play groups.  Pre-schoolers and many elementary aged campers will have a stronger emphasis placed on actual group activities centered on social skills, and recreation/leisure activities.  The middle school and high school campers will be working on social skills within group activities however a great deal of the day will be spent actively working on a group project, while demonstrating appropriate social skills with respect to the group dynamic.  This offers the facilitators the opportunities to observe the campers in the midst of an activity, and to then suggest and model appropriate social interactions.
