Since 1975, Cheryl O’Brien has been making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special needs at the Heartspring School. Throughout her tenure, Cheryl has been active in several areas within the school including a preschool, the physical education department, an oral muscular therapy program and Camp Logos. In 2003, she implemented the Workshop Training Program at the Heartspring School which serves as a training workshop preparing students for their future careers once they transition out of Heartspring. Cheryl’s passion for the children she works with is evident and her commitment to helping them succeed is exemplary.
Cheryl was honored as the NAPSEC Direct Care Worker of the Year in February 2002 and was named a 2009 Model of Excellence in Education by Exceptional Parent Magazine.
