Kellye - Home Coordinator Assistant

Kellye has lived in Wichita her entire life. She started her career at Heartspring in 2005.

“A friend I went to high school with worked here,” she said. “She kept raving about it and telling me I should apply. I did and now I have a career I can enjoy every day.” Kellye started as a home paraeducator and then was promoted to Group Home Training Assistant. In 2009 Kellye became a Home Coordinator Assistant and has enjoyed this new roll immensely.

Kellye says the goals she has for the students at Heartspring are for them to be able to spend time in the community.

“My goal for the kids is to help them learn to the best of their ability and to help teach them how to interact appropriately in the community.”

Since working at Heartspring, Kellye has learned a lot about Autism and other aspects of children with special needs.

“I did not even know about the world of autism before I came here. There is no short answer for what I’ve learned here. I learn something new every day. I do believe the Heartspring students have taught me to appreciate the simple things in life, no matter how small.”
