Through a volunteer art program, Heartspring students are able to interact with the world around them through creative mediums. One day each week Heartspring’s volunteer art instructor helps our students to use art materials increasing their awareness of seasons, events and the world around them. Visual supports are incorporated to projects as an aid for visual learners. Many of the art projects at Heartspring help students using communication skills, vocabulary and writing skills as well as fine motor skills. Special consideration is given to each art project so all students can participate regardless of mental or physical ability.
