Ways to donate to Heartspring by doing things you do every day
Did you know that you can make a donation to Heartspring by shopping online, searching the web or using your credit card? By doing these things just a little bit differently, you can help earn money to fund services provided by Heartspring. All logos and trademarks on this page are the marks of the respective owner(s).
Shop online. When doing so, go through iGive.com or GoodShop.com. These sites offer links to hundreds of major online retailers, and by going through the charitable site first you can designate Heartspring to receive a percentage of your total purchase. The percent donated varies by retailer, but usually ranges anywhere from 2-15% or more. You can also download an iGive shopping window that will automatically redirect you through iGive if you type in a participating store’s Web address. Do you shop at Amazon.com? If you use this link, Heartspring can earn 4-10% of all purchases.
Surf the web. You can earn money for Heartspring by doing a web search. Use the search engine GoodSearch.com, powered by Yahoo, and earn a penny for each search you conduct on the site. Just choose Heartspring from the “Who do you GoodSearch for?” box. If 1,000 people conduct two searches a day on this site, Heartspring will earn $7,300 annually.
Charge it at Target. Through the Take Charge of Education program, Target donates up to 1% of Target® Visa® and Target® Card purchases to Heartspring. All you have to do is designate Heartspring as your school of choice either online or by phone at 1-800-316-6142. You can visit their website to track the amount of donations that have been made. Check with other merchants in your area, they may offer a similar program.
E-cycle your old cell phone or ink cartridges. Collect your empty ink cartridges; old cell phones, chargers and plugs; and laptops and PDA’s and donate them to Heartspring. We will receive a donation from the recycling company for every item we send in. For more information on our e-cycling program please call 316-634-8791.
Clip Box Tops for Education.Heartspring will receive $.10 for each Box Top you send to us. Box Tops can be found on a variety of grocery items, such as Kleenex products, Huggies diapers, Pillsbury and Betty Crocker brand products, Hamburger Helper and many more. Visit the Box Tops website for a complete list of Box Tops products. Mail your Box Tops to Heartspring at the address below, attention “Box Tops.”
Sell or auction items online. You can hold an online auction and donate part or all of the finals sale price to Heartspring. Giving Works, a charitable arm of eBay, allows sellers to auction off items for charity. Sellers are rewarded for their generosity with a fee credit from eBay based on the amount the item sold for and what percentage of the sale they designated to charity. Shop for donations. Many stores allow shoppers to designate a charity to receive a donation based on a percentage of their purchase. You can search participating stores, restaurants and service companies that are in your community, or buy online from over 700 merchants. Check your local grocery store to see if they offer a similar program. You can also register your debit, credit or supermarket loyalty card at www.escrip.com to have a percentage of your purchases at stores like Vons, Safeway and Whole Foods be donated to Heartspring.
Donate your airline miles or credit card rewards points. Most major airlines have programs that allow customers to donate frequent flyer miles to charity. The stipulations vary by carrier, please contact the airline directly for more information on donating your miles. Heartspring can also accept travel vouchers as donations, as long as they are transferable and do not expire within 30 days. If you have points on an American Express credit card, you can donate your points to Heartspring by using the company’s Giving Express Program. Check with your credit card company to see if they have a similar program. Please note, donations of airline miles, hotel points and credit card reward points are not tax-deductible as they are a donation from the company and not from the point holder.
