Nick

Nick first came to Heartspring in December 2004 as a very cautious and dependent young man. He experienced many anxieties and his behaviors were inappropriate and frequent. Today Heartspring staff members have a hard time remembering that cautious young man. Read more »

Erica Hayes was looking for a job when she found a career at Heartspring. She started working as a paraeducator in 2006. She began achieving career goals, becoming a peer mentor and assisting new employees as they transitioned in to the work environment. In 2009, Erica was promoted to a home coordinator assistant. Down Syndrome Society's Buddy Walk, October 10

Over 1,800 people have already signed up for the Seventh Annual Down Syndrome Society of Wichita's Buddy Walk. This year's walk to raise funds and awareness for Down syndrome is October 9 on the Heartspring campus, 8700 East 29th Street North. On-site registration begins at 9:45 with the walk kicking off at 10:30. Lunch and other activities begin at 11:00. Register today »

 

Hearing Center Open House, October 11-15

The Heartspring Hearing Center will host an Open House event October 11 -15, providing free hearing screenings and free hearing aid cleanings and checks. Open House specials include a three-year warranty on all advanced hearing aids purchased, $400 off advanced Sonic Innovation and Widex hearing aids and a free package of batteries when you purchase two. Buddy Bites program offers skills training for students

Students in the Heartspring School are making pet treats, called Buddy Bites, as part of a new initiative that allows students in the Heartspring School to engage in meaningful activities and vocational skills. From taking orders to baking, packaging and delivering, Heartspring students are enhancing their functional communication and life skills every step of the way. Learn more about Buddy Bites »

 

2010 PedalFest a success

The beautiful weather brought a record number of more than 290 riders to the Heartspring campus for the seventh annual PedalFest on August 29. Thank you to all of the riders, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters for making this the most successful PedalFest yet.
