Hearing Center - 2007 Year in Review

Hearing Center photoThe Heartspring Hearing Center is unique to our organization as it is the only area of Heartspring offering services to individuals of all ages. In addition to hearing evaluations, hearing aid sales, video otoscopy and assistive listening devices, The Heartspring Hearing Center has a Donor Hearing Aid Program that supplies hearing aids at little to no cost for those who can not afford new instruments. This program is funded by Heartspring donors and grants. Each year we rely on the gracious spirit of our supporters to keep this program going, because without you, we can not help those in need.

  • Last year alone, $64,727 was given through the Donor Hearing Aid Program to assist clients who are deaf or hard of hearing.

  • A total of 173 children and adults now have improved hearing as a result of the Donor Hearing Aid Program. In compliance with federal law, Heartspring fits children with new hearing aids.

  • As part of the Donor Hearing Aid Program, Heartspring accepts donations of hearing aids that are no longer in use and reconditions those that are still in working order to maximize the number of clients served. In 2007 Heartspring received a total of 339 donated hearing aids from across the country.

To enhance all of our client’s hearing experiences, the Heartspring Hearing Center hosts a variety of open houses and special events, often in partnership with vendors such as Sonic Innovations, Widex and Oticon.

  • Last year special events took place on our campus in July, October and April. Special offers included free hearing aid checks and cleanings, free video otoscopy, free screenings and demonstrations. In addition, trial offers on hearing aids and coupons for battery purchases were available.
