History wall showcases Heartspring's legacy

Gary Singleton cuts the ribbon at the dedication ceremony

Heartspring hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, May 18 to dedicate a history wall comprised of photographs and milestones from our storied legacy, culminating over a year of special events celebrating our 75th anniversary.

The design of the wall features a landscape with grass, blue sky, clouds and children’s drawings. Jajo, a local integrated marketing agency, generously donated the design of the wall which pays homage to therapists, educators, administrators, special guests and most importantly, the children Heartspring has helped, both past and present. Three-dimensional clouds indicate important dates in Heartspring’s history and sensory elements were incorporated into the wall to make it interactive for the children at Heartspring.

“It is important that we not forget where we came from as we look to the future of helping children with special needs,” said Dr. Gary Singleton, Heartspring president and CEO. “This wall reminds us of the thousands of children who have received vital education, therapies and care from Heartspring, as well as the committed specialists who have been dedicated to each child’s success.”

Steve Randa, managing partner at Jajo, embraced the project. “Our community is fortunate to have such a special resource in our own backyard. Not only was Heartspring a pioneer of national support for children with special needs, their program has made the difference for countless families for over 75 years and Jajo is honored to help recognize that.”

Miracle Signs of Wichita manufactured and installed the wall art, fabricating non-traditional signage components and was instrumental in materials selection. They stepped in to help make this project a reality.
