Activities Can Teach

The Vocabulary Scavenger Hunt is a group activity that helps build your child’s vocabulary as well as helping them learn the function, features and/or adjectives of household items.

The object of the game is for the child to go on a “scavenger hunt” around the house to find an item based on its description. For finding the item, the child is given a small reward, such as a favorite game to play with the adult, a fun snack, a new toy, watching a movie, etc.

This simple game can be played with one or more children. The children can work together on teams or individually. Learn more about this activity.
