Novice riders and families can sign up for the 5 Mile Family and Friend Ride. Register online and create your own personalized fundraising page for you and your teams. Children are also invited to participate various events on the Heartspring campus.

Those unable to attend PedalFest can still raise money and awareness by registering as Virtual Riders and creating a personalized fundraising page. All participants will receive an event T-shirt and rider bag with their paid registration. Volunteers are also needed for the day of the event, Please visit the PedalFest website for a schedule of volunteer duties and to sign up. Funds raised through PedalFest support the Financial Assistance Program providing discounted therapies to families in Heartspring Pediatric Services.

Heartspring 75:Still Growing
Heartspring, formerly the Institute of Logopedics, is embarking on its 75th year of service as a worldwide center for children with special needs. As we enter such a momentous year we are asking for assistance from those that know us best; our former clients, donors, board members, family members, supporters and employees. We want to know your story.

Do you love Jeopardy and Trivial Pursuit? Do you think you know a lot about the history of the Institute of Logopedics/Heartspring? As we celebrate 75 years of service we want to test your knowledge. Each month we will ask a multiple-choice question. Everyone who responds with the correct answer will be entered into a drawing to receive a prize. All winners will then be put in to a drawing for the grand prize; two tickets to the 75th Anniversary Gala in September at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Wichita. Answer June's question.

In October 2009, Heartspring will host a Special Needs Resource Fair for Wichita and the surrounding community. Designed to help parents and professionals learn more about organizations that provide support to children with special needs in our area, the fair will feature booths and representatives from local organizations.

Camp SSTAR 2009

Camp SSTAR 2009Fifty-eight enthusiastic campers joined us for Camp SSTAR this summer with the goal of making friends and learning new skills for the school year accomplished!  Enjoying many camping activities such as fishing, hiking, and crafts as well as working on an official newscast and yearbook, the campers were involved, energized and excited to be a part of such a unique camp with the primary reward of lasting friendships. At the beginning of each week of camp, I asked all of the campers if they knew what the goal of the week was for them.  Each week started with campers telling me the same thing…”to have fun!”  I can guarantee that each camper had fun, and more importantly to me, they made friends and learned new skills. Read more about Camp SSTAR 2009.

Heartspring School

BryceBryce enrolled in the Heartspring School on August 14, 2008 from a school district that was 20 minutes away. Getting Bryce into the van to come to school was an obstacle that Bryce and his team had to work through. There would be times that Bryce wouldn’t get to school until 10:30 a.m. Heartspring’s staff was flexible to work on Bryce’s schedule. Learn more about Bryce.
