In a time when physical education programs are being cut from schools across the nation, Heartspring reinforces our commitment to our students’ physical well being. We are dedicated to providing programs that enable all students to sustain lifelong physical activity for a healthy, productive and fulfilling life with far reaching benefits in academic and social areas. "It is very important to our family, Sandie and I that Micah participate in Special Olympics.  It teaches him different sports, teamwork, and patience.  It gives him self esteem and the chance to make and meet new friends."

Gabi on tricycle
Developing a strong base for physical fitness allows Gabi to increase her overall quality of life and provides her with lifelong recreational skills that she can enjoy long after she leaves Heartspring. Riding the tricycle is one of Gabi’s preferred activities, along with swimming and playing on the air mat in the gym. Gabi
Danya
As a baby, Danya's parents noticed that she was not meeting the usual milestones. Danya began physical therapy sessions at Heartspring Pediatric Services when she was three years old. She has blossomed as a young girl and is finding a whole new world to explore. Danya

Heartspring Team
Meet LeeaParaeducator jobs can open doors to a future career. Samuel started working as a paraeducator and quickly advanced to a position coordinating recreation and leisure programs for our students. “At first I wanted to be a counselor, but working in the gym I could see myself being a teacher or a coach. You have to have a certain passion to work here and I love kids.” Current openings.

From The President
In keeping with our pledge to facilitate an active lifestyle for all children, each student enrolled at the Heartspring School participates in an adapted physical education (APE) class implemented by our master’s level APE teacher. As members of the Heartspring Hawks, all students are involved with Special Olympics, competing in the areas of track and field, aquatics, bowling and skiing to name a few. Heartspring is also proud to sponsor the Down Syndrome Society of Wichita's Buddy Walk located on our campus. In addition, each August during PedalFest, our annual bicycle tour fundraising event, cyclists of all ages can enjoy a day of physical activity and fun.

At Heartspring all children, regardless of disability, are given every opportunity to succeed.
