This seminar provides educators and caregivers with effective, easy to implement instructional supports for meeting the challenges presented by Autism Spectrum Disorders. Current best practice guidelines and links to educational research will form the foundation for a day filled with “on the go” teaching strategies and low maintenance materials.
There will be an emphasis on social communication, academic and vocational skills, daily living abilities and behavior management for students in self-contained and included settings. The information presented will cover a range of functioning levels and chronological age groups.

(Note: This workshop is best described as an introductory course in the use of visually supported instruction for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. When offered as a two day presentation or as a return engagement, there is a considerable amount of advanced content as well. Program planners are advised that all seminar offerings on this menu are appropriate for many students who have severe learning challenges other than or in addition to autism.)
