Special Olympics


	$15	Provides one child with a Heartspring Hawks uniform
	$25	Sponsors one child’s participation in the State Summer Games
	$50	Sponsors one child’s participation in all local events for one year
	$100	Helps purchase needed equipment such as snow shoes, ski bibs, gloves and a bowling ramp
	$150	Sponsors one child’s participation in the State Bowling Competition in Kansas City
	$200	sponsors one child’s participation in the Heartland Winter Games held in Weston, MO.

Special Olympics is a world-wide program providing year-round sports training, education and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

The Heartspring Hawks are active in many Special Olympics competitions. The athletes participate in a variety of events throughout the year locally and statewide that include skiing, track and field, aquatics (swimming), power lifting and bowling. Coached by our Adapted Physical Education teacher, the Heartspring Hawks are supported by teammates, parents, staff and community members.
