"There are kids who need augmentative communication devices. My son is one. Non-verbal, mentally challenged, etc, he is dependent on such devices to express wants, needs, a few negatives, and "Give me a high five!" Thankfully, Lindsay Randle and the staff at Heartspring are well up to the challenges.
Andrew, for one, has progressed from simple push-buttons ("Big Mac's" and one-step's) to a Seven Level Communicator and GoTalk, to a static Tech/Speak (AMDI), to a dynamic Samsung Q1, and is now undertaking entry into Zygo's dynamic and powerful Optimist 3.
Andrew carries his device via a shoulder strap, readily available, wherever he goes. Wonderful to see! Behaviors become reduced to the almost non-existent, confidence builds...he almost enters the mainstream. The difference for Andrew is obvious, and for what we thank Lindsay and the Heartspring staff, the greater "Thanks!" coming from Andrew!
