Angela’s history with Heartspring started long before she accepted the Director of Human Resources position. At one point in her career, Angela managed a company that sold human resources software and one of her clients was Heartspring. Just from that experience, Angela knew that Heartspring and its mission was something she wanted to be a part of. She just had to wait for the right time to join the team.
That time came in the summer of 2015 when she was hired on as the Human Resources Director. In less than a year, Angela was part of a number of company-wide changes. She helped develop the strategic plan to set the tone for Heartspring’s future. She combatted rising insurance costs by reevaluating the benefits package to get employees the best value for their insurance. She also helped plan a job fair to bring in new talent and support to keep up with demand for Heartspring’s services.
She has been in a leadership role in previous career stops, where she implemented and managed HIPAA-related issues and rebranded the recruiting program. She also restructured policies and procedures and brought accountability to compliance standards.
Over her 20-year career, Angela has gained detailed knowledge of human resources departments and the subtle intricacies that are unique to each organization. She created an HR department from the ground up as the Human Resources and Risk Manager for a local municipality. As part of that undertaking she implemented a variety of policies and procedures and improved the benefits available to employees while cutting the city’s expenses.
Angela has a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Development from Tabor College. She also has earned her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Senior Certified Professional (SCP) certifications. She enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
