2FROM THEBoard of TrusteesStepping onto the Heartspring campus, one can immediately tell something exciting and transformational is happening. We have a new leader, an energized leadership team and staff, and are developing new strategies that will allow Heartspring to serve even more children with special needs and their families. Before I get too far ahead of myself, it is equally important to pause and give a great, big shoutout of appreciation to former presidents, staffs, board members and Heartspring families. Without their efforts, our current transformation would not be possible. This group has worked tirelessly to build the foundation that has assisted children with special needs in becoming as independent as possible. So what is all the new excitement about? After a robust search process consisting of former and current board of trustee members, David Stupay was selected as the right leader for Heartspring. He is visionary and analytical, has a passion for serving, and is quickly raising the baseline of what’s possible for Heartspring. The Heartspring leadership team and staff have quickly rallied around David. They are identifying ways in which Heartspring can proactively provide more services to more children and are challenging the old processes and structures. In addition, a few positions have been created to add strength to the team and organization.A strategic planning committee was also formed with the leadership team and members from the board of trustees. A newly created shared vision and mission statement, strategies, and guiding values have been developed. The committee is currently validating their assumptions and strategies with the staff, the board of trustees and key stakeholders. The next steps include ensuring processes and measures are in place to support the strategies and aligning talent. Come to Heartspring and see for yourself the new energy and transformation. It remains our goal to provide excellence in our services while continuing to be humbled by so many children and their families depending on Heartspring. Thank you for your support and we look forward to what’s next for Heartspring.Brenda KoehringChairpersonFlint Hills Resources, LP (Retired)Brenda Koehring
