Heartspring’s CARE Clubs offer a wide range of social skill opportunities for your child(ren) starting in the spring of 2017. Our hope at CARE is to help children and adolescents learn valuable skills necessary for social and emotional development. Each of the clubs has a unique theme and goal in mind for the individuals enrolled.
Participants of the CARE Clubs Program:
- are children and adolescents (ages two to 21) who have a primary diagnosis of Autism, of mild severity. This is defined in the DSM IV as Asperger’s Syndrome and under the DSM V as high-functioning autism. The group is open to participants with a strong identification with an autism spectrum characterization and no formal diagnosis is required
- are independent and have low support needs
- are seeking to socialize, form friendships and have respect for fellow participants of the club
- do not engage in aggression towards others
Clubs are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
