Camp SSTAR Group Leader
Job Summary: Camp SSTAR is an innovative and life-changing program for children who learn differently. At Heartspring, we value and understand the growing needs and services required to help children within Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and similar symptoms stay on track and prosper over the summer months. Evidence suggests that children with a diagnosis of ASD do better when structure, consistency, and maintenance skills are delivered and taught.
The primary role of the Group Leader is to plan and implement meaningful activities and opportunities for the Camp SSTAR group, as well as coordinate outings and facilitate positive relationships with camp participates, parents/guardians and community members.
This is a temporary summer position that will run from May 28th to August 2nd. Lead staff will work from 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday. There will be one week off from July 1st to July 5th to allow for vacations for the Fourth of July Holiday!
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with children with ASD or special needs
Education in psychology, education or special education preferred
$12 per hour
