Heartspring announces two new board members, new board chairman and vice-chairman

WICHITA, Kan.— Heartspring added two new members to its Board of Trustees, Denise Butz and Jeremy Machain.

“We are happy to welcome these two individuals to our board,” Heartspring President and CEO David Stupay said. “We believe that Denise and Jeremy share our values and will help us in our mission to change the lives of children with special needs and their families.”

Butz, retired, holds a bachelor’s in Accounting from Texas Tech University. She is an active leader in the community and has served for local church organizations and Trinity Academy fundraising events. 

Jeremy Machain, Senior Vice President and Wichita President for Equity Bank, holds a Master in Business Administration from Newman University.  Machain has also been involved in various local charitable organizations including the United Way.  

Mike Flores, Assistant Director of Wichita State University’s School of Accountancy, is now the new board chairman and Christopher Shank, Account Executive from US Insurance Services, LLC, has been appointed vice chairman.

“Mike and Chris have been incredible parts of the Heartspring board, and we’re excited for them to step into leadership roles,” Stupay said.

After serving two years as the Heartspring board chairman, Phil Garrison, director of Baird, will continue to serve as the immediate past board chairman. During his time on the Board of Trustees, Garrison served on several committees and has had oversight over key projects such as the Heartspring Campus Expansion.   

Heartspring creates hope and opportunity that changes the lives of children with special needs and their families.
