Heartspring's Autism CARE Walk tomorrow in Wichita
Heartspring’s Autism CARE Walk tomorrow in Wichita
Wichita, Kan. –Thousands of Autism Advocates will gather at the Wichita WaterWalk on April 28 for Heartspring’s Autism CARE Walk. The event is free. Registration is at www.autismcarewalk.org.
Fundraising efforts go to Heartspring’s Autism Services program. A diagnosis can create major changes for a family or individual. Autism behavioral services and therapies cost up to $60,000 a year, on average.
“The funds at this walk make it possible for children to get the services they need,” Megan Berry, Heartspring Special Events Coordinator, said. “Every walker, dollar and step towards greater autism awareness matters to these families.”
In addition to the walk, the event will include family-friendly activities, vendors, presentations and local food trucks. The vendors and activities will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning with the actual walk kicking off at 10 a.m.
“We want this to be a great day for the whole family,” Berry said. “These teams worked hard registering, fundraising and spreading the word so we want to celebrate their efforts with a day filled with fun.”
