Heartspring brings two new fundraisers this holiday season.

WICHITA, Kan.— Heartspring will introduce a new event to the Wichita community on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 to benefit the Heartspring Pediatric Services program. Light Your Heart with Heartspring raises funds for children with special needs who receive therapies at Heartspring’s Pediatric Services. Because of events like these, Pediatric Services is able to offer free and reduced priced therapies to these children that otherwise would not be available.

“The generosity from the Wichita community plays an integral role in the life-changing impact happening at Pediatric Services every day. In 2014, Pediatric Services was able to award more than $425,000 in free and reduced priced therapies to more than 350 children because of the funds raised at Heartspring fundraising events,” said Hannah Henning, Special Events Coordinator at Heartspring. Light Your Heart with Heartspring will be a cocktail-style evening offestive food and spirits, live and silent Auctions, and live music by the local British invasion band, Across the Pond. The evening is hosted by Michael Schwanke, KWCH 12 News Anchor, and will bring Heartspring community partners together to celebrate the successes and obstacles overcome by the children served in Heartspring’s Pediatric Services program.

Also new to the holiday season, are “Angel for Autism” ornaments. Shoppers across Wichita can have a Heartspring Holiday by buying one of these ornaments for $10 each which provides an opportunity for a child to participate in Heartspring Community of Autism Resources and Education (CARE) Social Clubs.

"CARE clubs offer a way for children with autism who learn differently to feel accepted, included and understood. These clubs provide a foundation for children to gain crucial social skills so they can lead independent and meaningful lives,” said Nicole McLain, Director of the CARE Program.

Heartspring is a worldwide center for children with special needs. Our residential school, outpatient pediatric services, and the Community of Autism Resources and Education (CARE) Program aim to help children of all ages succeed by gaining the skills necessary for a more independent lifestyle.
