Heartspring Clinicians Recognized as Wichita Business Journal Healthcare Heroes

Two of our clinical professionals, Rhonda Witherspoon, a speech-language pathologist in our Outpatient Services Clinic, and Ashley Palumbo, a registered nurse in our Therapeutic School, have been recognized as 2026 Wichita Business Journal Healthcare Heroes.

The Wichita Business Journal’s Health Care Heroes recognition program honors professionals providing exemplary performance in their patient care and for their contributions to improving health care in Wichita and the surrounding area. This recognition reflects the expertise, compassion, and dedication Rhonda and Ashley bring to the children and families we serve every day and underscores Heartspring’s commitment to delivering exceptional care for children with neurodevelopmental needs.

For 36 years, Rhonda has helped children build communication skills that support greater independence and success, specializing in childhood apraxia of speech. Ashley provides medical care and care coordination for students with neurodevelopmental disorders, helping students fully participate in learning and daily life.

While their roles are different, both share a commitment to helping children reach their fullest potential through individualized, compassionate care.
